W14288_PCD Tipped Inserts
Information:
Customer has been running Brand X inserts for years and quality had been steadily going downhill. Cutters were being changed daily because a burr would develop on the rocker box face. Winco, working with a diamond supplier, applied a finer grade of PCD to the inserts and tripled the tool life while supplying the inserts for a lower cost than Brand X. The cost savings of $84,341 is for the cylinder head area only. The inserts are also being applied plant wide and this will bring the cost savings well over $100,000 for the customer.
