Information:
The customer originally had designed a cartridge style face mill which required set up time and very low feed rates. Winco manufactured a monoblock fixed pocket mill that requires no hardware or set-up, with 12 cutting edges. The feedrate could then be increased from 5,400 mm/min to 10,500 mm/min and achieve the customer a 2.0 second cycle time reduction for this cut.
With a total of 1500 pcs per day and a total of the 3 mills saving 9 seconds this translates to a savings of 3.75 hours per day.
